Menu path: My profile > Language

In short: You choose your own language in aishaa under My profile; it applies only to you, on every device you sign in on. You set the organisation’s language and time zone under Organisation > General; these determine the starting language of new colleagues, the language in which aishaa writes internal texts and the time zone of the opening hours.

Where to find this

  • Your own language: My profile, drop-down list Language. For everyone, from the Viewer role upwards. Applies per user.
  • The organisation’s working language and time zone: Organisation > General, fields Working language and Organisation time zone. From the Organisation admin role upwards. Applies per organisation.
  • Time zone of the opening hours: Organisation > Business hours, field Time zone. From the Organisation admin role upwards.

Choosing your own language

  1. Open My profile (at the bottom of the menu, or on your phone via More > My profile).
  2. Choose your language in the Language drop-down list.
  3. aishaa saves your choice immediately and reloads in the chosen language. There is no need for a Save button.

The top part of My profile with the profile picture, the Language drop-down list and the read-only Username and Email fields.

Option Meaning
English (default) Fully translated.
Spanish Largely translated; untranslated texts appear in English.
French Largely translated.
German Largely translated.
Turkish About half translated.
Dutch Fully translated.
Persian About half translated.

The names in the drop-down list are in the language in which you are using aishaa at that moment, with a flag in front of them. Your language choice is stored with your user account and remembered in the browser in which you choose it. The format of dates and numbers in aishaa also follows the chosen language.

The organisation’s language and time zone

  1. Go to Organisation > General. If your account has several organisations, first choose the right organisation with the organisation switcher.
  2. In the General block, choose the organisation’s language under Working language.
  3. Under Organisation time zone, choose the time zone. The field is a searchable list: type part of the name (for example “Amsterdam”) and choose the correct time zone. An empty value is not possible.
  4. Click Save at the bottom of the card to save your changes.

Below the fields is the explanation: “aishaa speaks to every customer in their own language. The working language is what aishaa writes in for your team (summaries, notes, suggestions) and how it speaks to customers whose language it doesn’t know yet. The time zone sets local dates, times and opening hours.”

The General block under Organisation > General with the Ticketing email, Working language and Organisation time zone fields and the explanation below them.

What the working language is used for

  • New colleagues invited in this organisation get the working language as their starting language, and the invitation email is in that language. The colleague can then choose a different language under My profile.
  • aishaa writes for the team in the working language: summaries, notes, proposals and the customer profile that aishaa builds from earlier conversations.

The working language does not determine the language in which aishaa answers customers. A proposal for a reply follows the language of the customer’s messages; only if the customer’s language is not yet known does it fall back to the working language, and otherwise to English. See Translation for translating messages.

What the organisation time zone is used for

  • The opening hours under Organisation > Business hours are interpreted in a time zone. That page has its own Time zone field with the explanation “All opening hours and exceptions are interpreted in this time zone.”; if you use the account’s opening hours, the time zone chosen there applies.
  • The Currently open / Currently closed indicator on the Business hours page follows that time zone.

Which time you see in aishaa

aishaa shows dates and times for tickets and messages in the time of the device you are working on. If you work from a different time zone than the organisation, you therefore see the times of your location. The dashboard and the peak times report also use your device’s time zone to determine the division into days and hours.

The language when creating a workspace

Anyone who creates a new workspace via the registration form sees the form in the language the browser has remembered for aishaa; without an earlier choice, that is English. That language becomes the language of the new account and of the activation email. After signing in, you choose your own language under My profile and the organisation’s language under Organisation > General.

Good to know

  • Only English and Dutch are fully translated. German, Spanish and French are largely translated; Turkish and Persian about half. Untranslated texts appear in English.
  • Some reports under Analytics show names of channels, statuses and chart series in English, regardless of your language choice. The Response times report always uses Dutch notation for week numbers and month names.
  • There is no personal time zone setting per user. The times you see follow your device; the opening hours follow the time zone of the organisation or the account.
  • If you change the organisation’s language, the language of existing colleagues does not change. They keep their own choice under My profile.
  • The organisation’s time zone does not change the timestamps of existing tickets; these are always shown in your own device time.
